Chef Shannon Smith is a cook, teacher, and traveler based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Raised in nearby Oklahoma City, Chef Smith has traveled to more that 50 countries around the globe, meeting and cooking with folks ranging from home cooks to restaurant chefs, while documenting it all on her website. She also uses her travels to teach women to cook and helps to finance their businesses using micro-loan programs. Her charity work includes Vizavance, a program in Oklahoma that provides eyecare to the homeless, as well as for Hope Haven Rwanda, a school for impoverished children in Murindi, Rwanda. She has raised over $600,000 for her charity work by donating epic dinner parties at her home for which she is renowned.
We basically call each other family at this point, we’ve worked so closely with Shannon over the years. We love getting to travel the world with her as her photographer/videographers and thus far have traveled to Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Spain, France, Mexico, and Morocco together. We’re currently working on a cookbook chronicling her stories and travels which should be releasing in 2024.
